The Birds
The CORK HARBOUR BIRD ATLAS is divided
into two main sections.
1. General Information
A section containing information
on the species that have been counted in the Harbour since 1978. The data
is devided into pre 1994 (1978-1994) and post 1994
(1994-2003). The post 1994 data collection was coordinated by Birdwatch
Ireland. The data is not directly comparable, as both count locations and
specific species counted were changed, thus the data is kept separate. The
General Information section contains a dropdown list with a number of options
including an overview 'The Birds of Cork Harbour'. Data is divided, pre
1994, by information by species, by location and by species in specific
locations. This is total individuals counted from 1978-1994. The post
1994 data is divided into 2 by 5-season mean and peak counts for
both species and location.
2. Common Birds.
This section contains information
pages on the fourteen most common species. The section includes general information,
links to bird song and graphs.
